1) This course track offering features teaching, instruction, and discussion regarding writing in the following formats: novel writing, screenwriting, short story writing, and poetry writing.
2) In addition to learning the structure of these writing formats, the business end of the writing and entertainment industry will also be discussed.
3) Program participants will learn where they can find jobs, both practical and creative, relating to these different writing styles.
4) This course track includes a life skills course intended to address and acknowledge each individual outside of their artistic identity. This is a course structured in a way that the program participants from all tracks will join together and sound off on topics about society, dating, the workforce, their life and career concerns, and receive guidance regarding these topics, as well as general life tips, such as resume writing, the importance of saving money and maintaining good credit.
5) By the end of the program, each novel writing, short story writing, and poetry-focused participant in the Writing track will have submitted a piece of work to include in a writing compilation book that will be published. Any proceeds received from the sales of the compilation book will be divided among the participants whose work is published within it.
6) By the end of the program, the screenwriting-focused participants will have collaborated on a screenplay that will be performed by and filmed by the other course track participants.
